Restoration is the middle path between patching a roof forever and replacing it outright. A tiled roof that is structurally sound but weathered, faded and losing its pointing usually does not need replacing. It needs the whole surface brought back in one coordinated job.

A proper restoration is a sequence, and skipping steps is what makes cheap restorations fail. The roof is cleaned back to a sound surface, broken tiles are replaced, ridge caps are re-bedded and re-pointed, and only then does any coating go on. Coating over a dirty or unrepaired roof just seals the problem in.

How long does a roof restoration take?

It depends on the size and condition of the roof and on the weather, since the surface has to be dry for coating. We will give you a realistic timeframe with your quote rather than a number that sounds good on the phone.

Is restoration cheaper than replacement?

Generally yes, and for a sound tiled roof it is usually the sensible option. If the roof structure or the tiles themselves are past it, restoration is money spent twice.

Will you tell me if my roof does not need restoring?
